The Elmer Tradition

Swim Team Update from Coach M.

Swim Team Practice - Has already started. Right now through June 22nd M-TH practice runs 7-8pm.

                                   On June 23rd practice will begin 13 and over 9-10:30am

                                   12 and under 10:30-12.

Starting the weeks of June 29th and July 6th (because of swim lessons) practice will run 9-10am older group and 10-11am younger group.

-WE STILL NEED LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS. TO SIGN UP AND HELP WITH THE MEETS.

SOME CHANGES

-There will be no pancake dinner. It will be a breakfast on June 26th. 

-Pictures will also be taken that day.

-Also we do not have meets on Sundays. So July 19th, should have been July 18th on your meet schedule.

Makeup meet is July15th, Wednesday Night Meet

The Elmer Swim Team is an Elmer Swim Club tradition that has been around for several years. We are pleased to have Coach Shavaughn Mulherin, Assistant Coach Steve Tucker and Assistant Coach Nori Jacques back to encourage and teach our kids again this summer.

• The Swim Team participates in the Surburban Swim League.
  
• Swim Team Schedule for 2009
  
• Practice Times during the summer are as follows:
  
  • Evening Practice
    • 7pm - 8pm, Monday - Thursday beginning Tuesday, May 26th
    • Water temperature must be 70 or above
      
• Morning Practice - beginning Tuesday, June 23rd
  • 9:00 to 10:30 swimming - Olympian ... swimming 4500 Meters or More
  • 10:30 to 11:00 Dryland - (M, W, Th) Olympian
  • 10:30 to 12:00 swimming - Developmental (all kids) for stroke mechanics, starts and turns
• All kids are encouraged to participate in the Swimming Lessons also offered at the pool.
  
• Children between the age of 4 and 18 who are members of the pool can be on the Swimming Team. You do not have to be good to participate. We will give lessons and teach you all you need to know to compete. Participation on the team is FUN!!
  
• Team Dues (collected at the pool):
  • First member - $10
  • All other familiy members - $5
